2nd Annual Comox Toyota Tailgate & Trail Event

Western Red Adventures Overland Rentals & Guided Tours - Vancouver Island - Vendor Set-Up at Comox Valley Toyota

What a day!

We had the amazing opportunity to return for the 2nd Annual Comox Toyota Tailgate & Trail Event! This time not only as a vendor, but as a co-host alongside Comox Toyota and the ever-dedicated Marc from Yotatune.

Planning for this event started way back in February, and we were thrilled to help in any way bring it to life again. Through content creation and advertising we were there help lighten the load for our main organizer Marc. It’s always a privilege to be part of something that connects so many corners of our local community.

The day started off a little bleak, grey skies and scattered showers had us wondering what kind of turnout we’d see. But as we got closer to Comox, the clouds began to part, and the sun peeked through just in time for setup. While we were hoping for clear skies, we also knew the rain was welcome given the wildfire conditions across the island.

By mid-morning, the lot was bustling. Participants rolled in, rigs shining and spirits high, ready for the show-and-shine. There was an incredible sense of camaraderie and energy from the get-go. Between managing our booth, flipping pancakes, and helping with raffle tickets (we ran out and had to get more!), the day flew by in a flurry of good vibes and great conversations.

Though we had to cancel the off-road scenic and technical runs due to dry conditions and wildfire risk, the convoy up to Mt. Washington Summit made for a memorable finish.
Sometimes Plan B turns out to be just as good.

A massive thank you goes out to all the vendors who donated raffle prizes. Your generosity helped us raise $2,300 for the YANA (You Are Not Alone) Foundation , supporting families in the community. We were proud to contribute a three-night rental from our own fleet to the prize pool,  and even prouder to see how enthusiastically people got involved for a good cause.

Of course, no post would be complete without a special shoutout to Phat Parrot,  those burgers were next level. Seriously, if you missed them… don’t next time.

Most of all, we want to thank the amazing participants, attendees, and fellow small business owners who showed up with such positive energy and support. The off-road and outdoors community never fails to impress, and this event was no exception.

We can’t wait to do it all again next year.  Hope to see you there!
